I spent the last few days writing a long post about my frustration at the prospect of Norm Coleman jumping into the governors race here in Minnesota. After a year of tea parties and townhall protests, it would be terrible to abuse the grass roots base by running a moderate republican when there are much better options available.
The post was set to run this morning. So imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and found that Norm has decided against running.
Kudos to Norm for realizing that this was not the right time or race for him to get back into politics. I hope he will get behind whoever the party nominates later this year and helps to get them elected so we can keep the governor's office in conservative hands.

It's not in conservative hands now, but I'm glad that Coleman isn't running that improves the chances of getting a conservative in office. When was the last time we had a governor submit a budget that was less that the previous biennium?
