Al Gore on the front lines in Afghanistan

From the Mudville Gazette comes word that the former vice president and leading voice in global warming hysteria is serving his part in Afghanistan.  His job?  Boosting morale.

Not to be confused with Bob Hope, Gore's contribution to morale is lending his nickname to a Combat Outpost used by the Marines of 1st Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment.

That's right, say hello to COP ManBearPig.

Far from being just a local thing, this story was written by the 1st Marine Division Public Affairs department.
For Marines operating from the joint Marine and ANA outpost, referred to by Marines simply as "ManBearPig," getting shot at by Taliban insurgents from a distance is a daily occurrence in this remote northwestern area of Nawa district. ManBearPig is argued to be one of the most dangerous and isolated posts Marines maintain in Nawa.
If you are unfamiliar with the how the nickname came to be, you can read the whole post at the Mudville Gazette or click here for the Wikipedia explanation.
