members of the US Congress attacked the attendees of the UN Climate Conference on Tuesday for their rank hypocrisy.
"It's almost like seeing a guy show up at the soup kitchen in a high hat and tuxedo," said Rep. Gary Ackerman, a Democrat from New York. "Couldn't you have downgraded to first class or something, or jet-pooled or something to get here?" Ackerman asked the executives at a hearing...
"I don't know how I go back to my constituents and say the... industry has changed if they own private jets which are not only (carbon) expensive to own, (carbon) expensive to operate and (carbon)expensive to fly here, rather than to have flown commercial," said Rep. Brad Sherman, a California Democrat. Sherman asked the (world leaders) if they were willing to sell their jets on Wednesday and fly back (home) on a commercial flight. "Let the record show no hands went up," Sherman said.
BARACK OBAMA: Well, I thought maybe they're a little tone deaf to what's happening in America right now. And this has been a chronic problem, not just for the (science) industry, I mean, we're sort of focused on them.
"This is a slap in the face of taxpayers," Tom Schatz, president of Citizens Against Government
Waste, told ABC News. "To come to (Copenhagen) on a corporate jet, and asking for a (carbon cap) is outrageous."
Whoops! Mixed up my stories! The above quotes are all from last year when CEO's of the auto industry flew to DC on private jets to arrange for a bailout. Funny how no one in the MSM questions why a conference on climate change and the evils of carbon starts with perhaps the largest fleet of private jets and private limos ever assembled. Hypocrisy thy name is global warming.
