From Blackfive

...comes my raison d'etre

For those of you (like me) who did poor in French class, raison d'etre translates roughly to 'reason for being'. In other words, my reason for being in this world is summed up by one simple thought-make this world safe for my children to live in and raise his/her children in.

I have two children, aged 5 and 8, and I would love nothing more than a world in which my kids know nothing of war, terrorism, or violence in general. Until that day, however, I will train myself and my kids to be ready for anything.
